Counselling in Bathgate, West Lothian
Working together to find the approach that works best for you.
At GCD Counselling Services, I offer professional counselling and clinical hypnotherapy for children, young people, and adults across Bathgate, West Lothian, and Scotland. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you can access help locally or online.
I provide counselling for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma, and the challenges associated with neurodiversity. I also offer clinical hypnotherapy as a complementary approach to support relaxation, confidence, and positive change.
I offer both face-to-face counselling at my Bathgate practice and online sessions for clients aged 16 and over throughout Scotland.
About Me
I am a qualified Pluralistic Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist who works with children, young people, and adults in Bathgate, West Lothian, and online across Scotland. My approach is based on the belief that every individual is unique, and therefore therapy should be tailored to meet your specific needs, goals, and circumstances.
I am accredited to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), reflecting my commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, and ongoing development as a counsellor.
I have experience supporting clients who have experienced trauma, helping them process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable. I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodiversity. I recognise that everyone experiences and processes the world differently, and I aim to provide a therapeutic space that is understanding, inclusive, and adapted to your individual needs.
I am committed to providing a warm, empathic, and collaborative environment where you can feel heard, respected, and supported.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
You don't have to face life's challenges alone. Support is available, and change is possible.
My Approach
As a pluralistic counsellor, I believe that no single therapeutic approach works for everyone. Instead, I work collaboratively with clients to understand what they need from counselling and tailor our sessions accordingly.
We identify your goals together and decide how counselling can best support you, rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.
By drawing upon different therapeutic approaches and techniques, we can find what feels most helpful for your needs, preferences, and circumstances.
My practice is grounded in respect, empathy, authenticity, and a belief in each person's capacity for growth and change.
Who I Work With
Growing up can bring many challenges. Children and young people may struggle with anxiety, confidence, friendships, family changes, school pressures, emotional regulation, or difficult life experiences.
I provide a safe and supportive space where young people can express themselves, explore their feelings, and develop healthier ways of coping.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be facing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work-related pressures, or significant life changes.
Counselling offers an opportunity to reflect, gain insight, and find new ways of moving forward.
Areas I Can Support With
I have experience supporting clients with:
Specialist Experience
I understand that trauma can have a significant impact on how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. Trauma-informed counselling provides a safe and supportive environment where difficult experiences can be explored without judgement and at a pace that feels right for you.
I also recognise that neurodivergent individuals may experience challenges differently from neurotypical individuals. My aim is to provide an inclusive therapeutic space that respects different ways of thinking, communicating, processing emotions, and experiencing the world.
Together, we can find approaches that work with your strengths and individual needs rather than against them.
Whether you are looking to understand difficult emotions, process past experiences, improve relationships, build confidence, or develop coping strategies, our work will be guided by your goals and preferences.
